Elements Building

The Elements project was the first project to incorporate our StarBar Lighting Fixtures. The sculptures created by Eric Higgs spans almost 70' per column. Each column is lit with four 2' StarBars consuming a total of 68 watts for all four fixtures. No other lighting technology can achieve this without blasting the adjacent resident balconies with unwanted light.

This is a private residence that combined conventional outdoor lighting LED lighting was utilized to act as moonlighting for trees and add accent lighting for specific areas. At the time of completion in 2008 white light LEDs where still not paractical for curtain Outdoor applications. The continued progress of LED's are making the technology more viable for most outdoor lighting.

Though a collaborative effort between Chris Jones at Bay Stage Lighting and Light Emotions we designed and installed this entire Color Kinetics LED lighting system in December of 2008 on the roof of the downtown SunTrust building. The system replaced a static Fluorescent tube array that consumed around $45.00 per day in electric and took hours to cover will gel coating to achieve any color. The new LED system consumes approximitley $15.00 per day and the color of the entire roof can be changed at the touch of a button. Unlike the old colored gels, along the creative genius of Chris Jones a fully dynamic light show can be programmed and played.
